Today we start going over Asia, Ch. 7, which is an in depth focus, by section, of China, Japan, and the Koreas
After we discuss Section 1 regarding China and current events, students will answer the following questions: Questions 1-8 DO NOT NEED TO BE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. The three end of section textbook questions DO NEED TO BE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.

3.) What was the "Great Leap Forward"?
4.) What was the aim of the Cultural Revolution?

This week, we begin studying Ancient Greece.
Today, we will be looking at - the physical geography of Greece and how it affected ancient life; early history of Ancient Greece (Minoans, Mycenae, Dark Ages); early forms of government
Students will be doing three different activities to organize and chart this information:
1.) Using JUST 169, complete a cause/effect chart (you can use a simple T-Chart if you want) about how physical geography affected the early Greek civilization – HAVE AT LEAST THREE EXAMPLES
2.) Using pages 170, 171, and 172 (stopping at the red heading “Governing Ancient Greece), create a TIMELINE of early Greek history – have AT LEAST 2 entries for the Minoans, 2 entries for the Mycenaeans, 2 entries for the Trojan War, and 2 entries for the Dark Ages of Greece
3.) Using pages 172 and 173, create a 3 column chart for the 3 different types of government that existed in Greece after the Dark Ages – Aristocratic government, Tyrant government, and Democratic government. Under each column, explain how each government worked and what might be the benefits of each

Today's Reading Like a Historian (RLH) covers documents from and about Hammurabi's Law Code from ancient Mesopotamia.
